Central Office

R, Y1 and Y6 Return Letter to Parents 19th June

Dear Parent/Carer,

Re-opening of schools for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6

As you know the Prime Minister re-opened schools on 1st June 2020 with a number of strict provisions in place, including reduced class sizes of 15 and social distancing measures.

In the last 4 weeks we have been fortunate enough to welcome back a number of students into Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 at Harris Primary Merton. Whilst we would like to welcome more students back, unfortunately we are now at full capacity in these four year groups.

As the Government has said that classes need to be no larger than 15 we have now used all of our classrooms and all of our available teachers.

I understand that some of you may have been waiting to bring your children back to see how things went at the Academy and to see if there were any changes in information from the Government and I am sorry that we are unable to accommodate your child’s return.

Should anything change over the next few weeks that enables more children to return to school then we will, of course, contact you.

Please remember to keep checking your emails for any information about September. We will let you know as soon as we have any information about what September will look like in the Academy.

Should you have any questions please email the school office. The email address is We are experiencing a high number of emails at the moment but will our best to answer any queries within 48 hours.

Our school office is open from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm for telephone calls.

Unfortunately, we are unable to have any parents on site at present, therefore please do not come to the school.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your patience and hard work over the last few weeks.
