School Meals & Menu

At Harris Primary Merton, we know that all pupils need high-quality, nutritious food for a healthy body and mind.

Therefore, we provide delivious, seasonal and healthy meals every day.

We use the caterers Chartwells, who have extensive understanding of the foods that children both need and enjoy. They work closely with us to create exciting, and healthy menus that all pupils can access. Please click here for our termly menus.

We want our pupils to have a positive dining experience in school, and experience the benefits of a balanced diet from an early age. Our midday supervisor team support our children to try new foods from reception, and to ensure they develop good eating habits.

Chartwells caters to pupils with different medical needs and allergies, so that as many pupils as possible can enjoy a hot school meal with their friends. Should you have any concerns about your child's eating habits, or if you consider your child to be a 'fussy eater', then do not hesitate to contact us to develop a meal plan for your child at school.

If you would rather provide your child with a packed lunch, we ask that this does not include any nut products, fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolate or glassware.

If your child has a special diet and/or certain food intolerances, you will be required to complete some paperwork in order for Chartwells to ensure that what they are providing for your child is appropriate. Medical evidence will be required. You can download and fill out a Medical Diet Request Form here if your child has a dietary requirement. Alternatively, you can collect a printed copy from the school office and can complete it with us.

Pupils in all year groups can receive a free school meal every day.

Pupils are also welcome to bring in packed lunches from home should they wish.

We are a nut-free school.

Fruit is provided for all children in Early Years and KS1 on a daily basis. We encourage children in KS2 to bring in a healthy snack to eat at playtime.

Please also make sure that your child has a named water bottle in school everyday.
